7.1.2010
The St Andrew Society of Russia is proud to announce that the annual Burns Supper will take place on 30th January, 2010 at the Marriott Royal Aurora, right in the heart of Moscow. The Burns Supper is a highland dress (or black-tie) evening with a champagne reception, a four-course dinner, burns recital, Scottish ceilidh band, piper and toasts-a-plenty.

THE REASON

Robert Burns is Scotland's national poet and the man we have to thank for classic works such as 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose' and 'Auld Lang Syne'. 25th January marks the birth of the poet and is celebrated in Scotland and around the world with a traditional event known as a 'Burns Supper'. The evening follows a special order, starting with the Selkirk Grace, and featuring the entertaining Toast to the Lassies and the reply toast from the ladies. There will also be the chance to whirl each other around the dance floor for some reeling, and later a DJ to take you into the wee small hours.

THE COST

A table of ten costs 45,000 roubles, or individual tickets can be purchased for 4,500 roubles each. But there is a 500 rouble discount on all tickets ordered AND PAID FOR by 20th January, making a table just 40,000 roubles! We are limited to 200 tickets so please get in touch soon to avoid being disappointed.

GETTING TICKETS

Tables and individual tickets can be booked by sending us an email. Each booking will be confirmed within a few days with details on how to pay.

SPONSORSHIP

This event is a great opportunity for companies and individuals alike to help your society put on the event and help us raise a bit more for charities. As in the past, you can also sponsor a table, sponsor the cost of band or even sponsor the Haggis. Your company will be able reach a broad cross-section of the expat and Russian business communities so get in touch if you’re keen and before the 20th January 2010 to ensure inclusion in the event brochure.
